CONTEMPORARY ART XXI CENTURY

On June 8 will open the MEAM, the first contemporary figurative art museum in Spain, an initiative of the Foundation of the Arts i els Artistes.
As one of the first goals to be achieved, the foundation has proposed the creation of a museum of modern and contemporary art that is diferentiated from many already in existence in that provides spaces for contemporary artists who, for being figurative, realist or hyperrealist artist, are often excluded from other museums and collections of foundations or institutions.
The foundation has adquired a total of around 1.700m2 of building know as "Palau Gomis", an 18th – Century Palace at the crossroads Between the streets of Montcada, Princesa and Barra de Ferro.
The first exhibition of the MEAM is called "Contemporary Art XXI Century", consisting of about 200 paintings and 30 sculptures artists of various nationalities.

El 8 de junio se abrirá el MEAM, el primer museo de arte contemporáneo figurativo en España, una iniciativa de la Fundación de las Artes i els Artistes.
La Fundación se ha propuesto, como uno de los primeros objetivos a alcanzar, la creación de un museo de arte moderno y contemporáneo que se diferencie de los muchos existentes precisamente por dar cobijo a los artistas, que por practicar el arte figurativo, realista o hiperrealista, suelen verse excluidos de los restantes museos y colecciones de fundaciones o instituciones.
La fundación ha adquirido un total de 1.700m2 del edificio conocido como "Palau Gomis", un Palacio del Siglo XVIII ubicado en el cruce entre las calles de Montcada, Princesa y Barra de Ferro.
La primera exposición del MEAM se denominará "Arte Contemporáneo Siglo XXI", que constará de cerca de 200 pinturas y 30 esculturas de artistas de diversas nacionalidades.
